Kumba African Hair Braiding

She’s my favorite braider to go to!! I’ve had my hair done at least 3 times with her and always get complimented for weeks after. I feel more considered there with color matching, braid sizing, and getting curls, extra length and such with mine. I always look forward to coming here I love her and the ladies there!

The braider, braided my edges medium in the front and the sides and back larger. When I got home I put my hair up in a ponytail and my hair was very uneven, half of the end was wavy and some was not. I call back to speak with owner Kumba. She was very RUDE and was not apologetic. She took up for the braider and not the client. I would have returned if she was opposed to fixing it but due to her rudeness I I formed her I would NEVER return. I was going to refer alot of clients her way but because of how she handled the situation, no referrals from me.

The worst, I should’ve looked at the reviews first. One stylist started on me stopped halfway through & started helping the other stylist on another client. She then told me the other stylist was going to finish me. They literally played in my hair. They charged 160$ for 11 jumbo knotless braids. The parts were all different sizes. Some of my hair was not in the braids. There were so many fly aways. Just a poor job overall.

I had a good experience at this salon. I contacted the salon to ask for a next day appointment and was accomodated to come 8am the next morning. The ladies were nice, and my stylist made sure to look at the pictures on my phone and understand what I wanted. They had hair in the salon so I didn't need to bring anything. I have a sensitive scalp and asked her to be gentle braiding my edges into the cornrows. She did so which turned out good because they tightened as the added hair was braided in the cornrows. She took time to trim flyaways and smooth down my hair. I sat under the dryer to set it, and was done in 2 hours. They take cash, or app payment like cash app, zelle. I have received tons of compliments on my hair since it was done!

Honestly. I looked at the reviews and wanted to gain my own experience. Some people will come into an established already angry or upset and leave a terrible review. When I entered they were soft spoken but did speak. I was serviced knotless (Smedium) by Fivetwo. She was very humble and nice. Kumba is nice aswell. She completed hair in less then 4 hours. They will definitely be my go to. Also the price was reasonable
