Kokovi African Hair Braiding

I had a very disappointing experience at The Braiding place. I called three separate times to confirm the price of the service and was told the same amount each time. However, when I arrived the price was suddenly changed. That kind of inconsistency and lack of transparency is frustrating and very unprofessional. The salon itself was also extremely cluttered with barely enough room to walk around. It didn’t feel like a comfortable or sanitary environment to receive a hair service so with that I left. Instead of proper salon chairs, clients were sitting in kitchen chairs, stools, folding chairs, and even lawn chairs which made the experience even more uncomfortable. On the other hand, my experience at Binta Best Braids was the complete opposite. I felt welcomed and actually paid attention

This will be my last go around at this location. They use too much product and have too many hands in your hair. The team that attacks your hair doesn’t braid the same or follow the same size braid. Inconsistent braids and lines. The braids are tight and gooey from the product.STOP SUPPORTING THIS ESTABLISHMENT, they laugh at us “ Americans”! at first glance,my hair looks good,but the person who did the back of my hair made my parts bigger. they try to ask for payment before hair is even halfway done. make sure you ask them to at least clean the comb they’re putting in your hair or bring your own comb,i’m getting small white bumps in between my braids(not because of tightness).they put so much gel in your hair as well,so it appears as dandruff.they’re also judgemental unnecessarily while doing your hair.check your hair thoroughly before you leave.

I’m truly disappointed. I was referred to this shop and was genuinely excited to get my hair done after seeing the beautiful work they did on another customer. I called several times to confirm availability, secured a time, and drove across town in rush-hour traffic, passing what felt like 899,231 other braiding shops, just for the braiders who were supposed to do my hair to leave and not return. To their credit, everyone was very nice and the lady I spoke with was genuinely apologetic. Still, it was upsetting because I have a corporate, executive-facing job and had taken the day off specifically to get my hair done.
