Kim's Hair Salon

The salon is very clean and tidy, and the owner is a friendly person. However, I don’t think she has enough experience or skill yet to call herself a professional stylist. For the record, I did bring a photo of what I wanted and she said she understood, but the results were not even close. She didn’t shampoo my hair before cutting, which might be fine for some, but I’ve always thought it helps achieve a cleaner, more even cut. She also didn’t provide a proper gown — just a cloth that didn’t fully cover my clothes — so I ended up with hair bits all over me. I expected maybe she would wash it after the cut, but that didn’t happen either. The haircut itself felt uneven and rushed. Terrible experience. The stylist rushed through my mom’s haircut and didn’t seem to care about the quality. When my mom pointed out that her hair was uneven, the stylist was rude, forcefully pressed her back into the chair, and did another quick, careless cut that made it even worse. As a service provider, i still tip her well. But it is completely unprofessional and unacceptable service. We wont come back so NO WORRIES!!! Peace ✌️ Reply to the owner: First of all, my mom washed her hair prior to the appointment, so there was no reason for you to claim that her hair was too oily to cut. If you truly felt it was an issue, why proceed with the cut in the first place? I want to start off by saying Kim is lovely. She has a friendly personality and is very nice. Unfortunately, this is where being "nice" is a problem; she is over accommodating. I booked my appointment online days ago for a cut and color, and while I was there for a simple cut and color (she convinced me to do highlights, but only 2 strands, to which she randomly chose), she "accommodated" 3 other people's haircuts and color (2 men and 1 woman). All while I sat there wondering when she was going to finish with me. Not only that, while all four of us were there, another couple walked in and asked for haircuts and she told them to come back in 30 mins. Wait what?! Kim is a super friendly and skilled stylist! She gives a great haircut and I love my haircut every time! Definitely recommend!

The haircut came out very uneven and as soon as I questioned her style I was asked to leave nicely. I would say Kim is nice but my hair really came out pretty bad. to reply to the owner: hi Kim, I showed your pictures and all of them shows hair around neck line and I was clear about requesting please make sure I can tie my hair. Looking at the picture you cut my hair to my ear and I couldn’t tie my hair. I was the one who was nice and said sorry , I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable but the hair is shorter than my expectations. And then you just asked me to leave. As a busy mom of two kids, I dont have time to argue with you so I left. For sure, I will never step in your salon again but if you make up things that I was being hostile please prove it.
