Joy Classic African Hair Braiding

Saw them on instagram, and figured I come from Pennsylvania to try the fastest hands. I got there at 9:33am. And was seated right away. I had Bea and she did my hair from start to finish. I got small boho braids their $180 special, my hair length to my waste. ( I brought in my own deep wave boho hair) Left the shop at 3:36pm.. I love my hair

The braids came out very nice and the braided I had was very nice unfortunately I had the wrong Boho hair (from Amazon which seems like a common error because they already knew where it was from before I said it) and she still pulled off what I wanted just not as full. They do provide regular braiding hair in the price not the boho curl hair. If your anything like me with a very sensitive scalp and bad Eczema I warn use at your own risk because BABY my head was so itchy it was on fire. I didn't bring my own hair because I figured if it was included use what they have but I QUICKLY realized my error. (Again this was my situation and my problem because I know better). I would give zero 100 stars if I could. The place STINKS its so dirty, food and hair and trash on the floor, they walk around barefoot dragging other peoples hair around the salon. Told me $180 for mid back then the owner tried to charge me $200 because it was longer than mid back even though the lady braided it longer than I asked for. I told her I wanted mid back and she kept making it long and told me not to worry about it. I got the hair done Thursday night and the next day the curly boho pieces started falling out. They’ve been falling out every day since literally just from me trying to braid it down at night or tie my hair up. Rude, nasty, unsanitary shop and did a terrible job. Never again.

As a first timer to this location, I must say I am glad I went. I went with a friend who had gone before and done her braids and had a good experience. It was my first time doing braids, let alone with extensions and I must say it was worth it. I asked for small-med braids and got it. The stylist named Oondu ( not sure if it's spelled right) did a great job and didnt stop for the whole 6 hours! Except for when I had to move my car which the workers were so kind to let me know to move it before getting a ticket. The braids have lasted me about a month. Sure there is shedding but that occurs naturally. I enjoyed my first experience and would go again, especially for the reasonable price.

The shop told me this is how my hair suppose to look after three days of getting it done. They won’t refund me or braid my hair again I sent over a picture to owner who stated my hair suppose to look like this after getting done it’s only been a week..if I want it done again I have to come in pay for service again. Warning Please don’t GO… just got my hair braiding on June 23th
