Jones Road Beauty

I live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I am going to be 60 this year and I have been looking for a makeup that will look good on my mature skin for everyday. You know the no makeup makeup look or whatever they call it. I had been seeing these adds for Jones Road all over my social media and when I found out they had a store in the city of Chicago (Bucktown) I had to give it a try. I am so happy I did. I walked in and was immediately overwhelmed until Dani (make up artist) approached me. I told her what I was looking for and she talked me through it. Basically, didn't really know what I was looking for. She was professional, kind, patient and and took the time to dumb things down for me. Jones Road only has a few physical locations worldwide, but I'm glad there's one in Chicago. It's a bright, well organized space that feels a little too formal to just go play with things in, but does offer a way to try out makeup that works a little differently from most things on the market and has a bit of a learning curve. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the products. They give honest advice about products based on your skin type, preferences, and goals. I'm a big fan of the Miracle Balm, Just a Sec eyeshadow, and their eyeliner pencils. I'm not completely happy with the shade range in their complexion products, though. My spouse loves the makeup, so we made a special trip while in Chicago. The staff showed her new techniques for application that allows for more natural looks. I bought the thicker miracle creme moisturizer to help with dry facial skin and help with redness. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and engaging without being forced or pushy. Would happily return when I'm Chicago again.

Popped in to check some lip colors in person and to ask for a few application tips. Yinka was fantastic. Even though the shop became quite crowded just after I arrived, he took his time with me, offered great suggestions, showed and discussed the difference between WTF and JETM, then gave me a generous sample of WTF to try at home. I have literally been waiting for years for an opportunity to visit the Jones Road, brick and water store after ordering their products online for so long. And oh my gosh, it did not disappoint. The store reflects everything that I love about Jones Road: Simple layout, high-quality, not flashy, and with down to earth customer service. I got the pleasure of being helped by Yinka. I wanted to experience what a professional Jones Road rep would do with my face and I was so pleased with Yinka suggestions and insights. He adjusted the right colors for me, clarified the differences between products that I had questions about, made a couple suggestions of products that I could truly benefit from without over selling it, and was an absolute gem of a person. He even spoiled me with several samples.
