I cannot say enough good things about Julie and Jon Val Hair Salon in Groveland. After moving from Boston, I searched everywhere for a new hairdresser and kept running into places that felt overly salesy. Constant upselling, flashy extras, and an experience that felt more like retail than hair care. I was looking for a true professional. Someone who really knows hair and lets the work speak for itself. Julie is exactly that. She is bright, positive, and genuinely kind. She is so easy to talk to and makes every appointment feel relaxed and comfortable. You can chat the whole time and she is right there with you. I actually look forward to going in. I have an awful time with my hair! I’ve had bouts of scalp psoriasis for years so it periodically falls out, changes character from naturally curly + thick to thin, flat + straight. I used to have a perfect part, but that’s now MIA. I moved to Groveland last year and struggled to find an experienced hair stylist who could read my hair/head. My hair was butchered by more than a few individuals this past year. (I’d been with my last hairdresser in NY/NJ for close to 20 years.) Then, someone pointed me to the Jon Val Hair Salon. Julie cut my hair. She’s a genius! She trimmed my hair perfectly, handled my cowlicks and somehow gave me body I never could find! She did a brilliant job with my hair the 1st time we met!
