JFK Nails

Really disappointed with my recent experience at this salon. Do not recommend spending your hard earned money here. I’ve been getting my nails done for over 15 years saving up every penny for a fill and with price increases, I want my money spent on something worth it. First, the equipment being used is OLD, especially for pedicures. Second, I didn’t at all get the color I asked and I corrected the technician twice before finally letting it go. Third, I asked for chrome which they charge an additional 15 dollars for (outrageous compared to my usual salon) and they were incapable of doing the service. When I told them I was unhappy they laughed and finished before offering to fix it, to do something different or to give me a discount for the inconvenience. I was there for 2 hours already so

I never do reviews but this place made me. I travel a lot for work so I go to a different place every time and I found this one on google maps, read the reviews and thought I’d give it a chance. First of all their costumer service is terrible, second the lady who did my nails didn’t seem to be listening to what I wanted. I wanted a simple only acrylic on nail (no extensions) French tip. I told her I always do longer but I wanted to keep the length of my nails (they were short) but wanted them a bit longer than my actual nail. She kept the same length if not shorter, my nails now look pink with an uneven French tip lines, I had to stop and tell her that some of my nails were shorter than others for her to fix them and still they’re not the same length. Do not recommend. I go to many different places as dependent on work and figured I would give this place a try. The tech first pointed me to a box to choose colors then when I selected within the appropriate box, she said it was wrong, turns out another tech told her I was right. She kept needing to do other things, spray, clean, grab a towel, take a call, get her glasses, clean her glasses… that would have been all fine if she actually did my nails correctly. It was a mix of gel, dip, and something in between. No actual “manicure” (ie cuticles, appropriate filing, cut) just painting/dipping for $50. Needless to say, going elsewhere.

Cut my toenails so short I’m gonna end up with at least 2 maybe ingrown/hangnails. I didn’t have long nails before but she didn’t even ask if it wanted to keep them the same length or anything and cut them way too short. She barely even filed them evenly and when it came to the clear coat she had both hands done in like a minute leaving some on the side of my finger. I could have saved my money and done this all myself but wanted to have a nice experience with my fiancée to get ready for our engagement photos.

My nails have never looked better—super clean space and the staff is so detail-oriented. I always leave feeling polished and pampered. It’s my little escape in the middle of the city.
