Jewel Nails Salon Altoona

Schedule an appointment online for a regular pedicure and builder gel for nails. I went to a place out of town for builder gel that has lasted over an month and wanted to get it again here in Iowa. My pedicure was mediocre compared to anywhere else I have been. My main issue is with my nails. A girl started my nails with the builder gel but never asked me if I wanted to cut my nails down or not. I let her know so she cut them and said I will shape them at the end. She finished putting the product on and then started working on another client that came in after me. Another girl came over to shape my nails and she did not shape them correctly because she did not see the shape before they were cut. The original girl came over and told her the shape but some are shorter or shaped different tha

Eh. It was okay. I will say, the staff are very very nice and friendly. Price point is high though and my manicure and pedicure were mediocre. I had to fix when I got home. And, I paid just under $200 😳😳 I was not expecting that price especially for what I got. Again though, nice staff.

This is about the second time that I've came here and my eyebrows didn't get shaped the way I wanted. It was the same lady both times and she doesn't know a lick of English when I tried to correct her on how I wanted them to look. She then began to wax my entire face when I only had came in for eyebrows and lip I asked her more than once what she was doing if this was a part of the deal and she couldn't understand me and I asked her more than once if I'm going to be charged for this and she replied no but I ended up getting charged for it. Plus I waited almost 30 minutes to be seen. I'm never coming here again!!

Jewel is my go to salon. I won’t go anywhere else. Between the talent, quality and the warmth of the employees, Jewel is the only place to go.
