James Anthony's Barber Shop

James has the dynamic of the traditional barbershop. Cash only. Appointments preferred, walk-ins welcomed. Calling a few days in advance gives a great chance of getting the time slot you want. Calling 2 weeks in advance is a guarantee for what one would want. Very punctual with appointments. You WILL be done within your 15 minute appointment window. He has a 24hr no cancelation policy. I haven't tested it myself, but I've overheard it being enforced. Gives a good haircut. He good with kids. My son and I go there every 4 weeks and have been for years.

So, I discovered this barber shop around three months ago. It had great reviews, it was local, and so I figured I’d give it a shot. I went in and was greeted by James, the owner, who was very welcoming, cordial, and pleasant to talk to, and he offered to cut my hair. Needless to say, he did a great job; my hair looked great afterwards! After a very long time, I was in need of another hair cut; so I went back to his shop. He greeted me again, and directed me to one of his barbers who then cut my hair. She was very nice and professional and did a great job, like James. I’ve had the pleasure of getting my hair trimmed by James for about a year now. He really has a great set of skills when it comes to precision and consistency! I’ve never had a barber be as consistent as he is. I already know I’ll be satisfied before I sit down since he has my style perfected!

I’ve been going to James for over 10 years. I go out of my way to continue using him because I trust him 100%. He’s very personable and makes appointments so you don’t waste more time than you need to. If you need a cut that couldn’t be planned he has employees that can take care of you as a walk in who are also great. The shop is beautiful and has convenient and safe location in the heart of Babylon a few blocks from the train station. Would recommend to all my closest friends and family!

I’ve been seeing James for years although I got lazy and let my hair grow out due to the fact I moved away from the neighborhood. James cut it all off and as usual did not disappoint me. He is the only person I trust that has scissor skills and always seems to get it just right. Thank you James. I had a hard time letting the long hair go but I’m not disappointed. See you soon..
