Hans Maxem's Salon

I was extremely disappointed with the results of my $14.00 cut. Had to go elsewhere to have it fixed. In hindsight not worth the price or experience for that matter! Didn't appreciate getting verbally abused by this one hairdresser!!!

I called today to get pricing on highlights for my two kids. I asked what the cost would be and TWO woman (heard the other one in the background) stated they didn't want my business with no legitmate reason at all. They asked "why don't I go where I usually go" and "where do you live" ... I'm not sure what that has to do with making an appointment or getting pricing, but VERY unprofessional. DO NOT RECOMMEND this salon.

They were so wonderful and kind. I had to go there and needed a fast hair cut. I had just given birth three weeks prior and my mother died a few days prior. It was the day of her wake and my hair was a mess and I felt terrible. They got me in and did a beautiful job on my hair. The price was incredible and I felt so relieved after having my hair cut. I will be going back again soon.

I first went to "Hans Maxem" about 35 years ago when Joan owned and ran the shop. She could be a bit surly but underneath the topical gruff, was a good human being. Today, 35 years later, I still go and I still get a good haircut. A crew does the job as does the price and location. I get along with "All-The-Girls" regardless of personality quirks! I go for my intended purpose and I am well-served. The Girls are all human and humans have good days, bad days and the in-between days. My mother worked as a Beautician and I understand the daily stress of serving-the-public. I shall continue to go unless God calls me - in which case, a haircut becomes superfluous!

The stylists were very helpful in making sure I was able to get the same haircut every time if I wanted to just get a trim next time. They do cutting and styling for men and women, and they offer basic coloring and waxing.
