Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

I booked a visit at Hand & Stone yesterday as a birthday treat for my sister, and we were both blown away by the experience. Justice was absolutely amazing—professional, attentive, and incredibly skilled. We each walked out feeling relaxed, refreshed, and genuinely cared for. My sister couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful her service was, and I felt the same. If you’re looking for a massage therapist who delivers excellence from start to finish, Justice is the one. Highly recommend!

I am only rating 3 stars due to my sister enjoying her services done by Leon. Me on the other hand had Angel and it was not the way I would have liked to enjoy my birthday. Angel seem to not want to be there. Her mood was not welcoming or pleasant and during my service I often felt that she was given "the bare minimum" (only using one hand during the massage at times). In addition she wore a mask (which didnt bother me) and gloves during the entire service. Which from my understanding is not normal and definitely impacted the normal "feel" of a massage. Lastly, when services was done I informed the receptionist that my service was "just okay" and was not offered any inquiry on to why just a "sorry to hear that" If I return it will only be to experience Leon.

This was my first time at Hand & Stone, and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. I had Angel, from the start she acted like she didn't want to be there. Her demeanor wasn't warm or welcoming at all, which immediately set the wrong tone. I clearly specified firm pressure on the intake form. During the massage, the pressure was very light. I politely asked twice for firmer pressure. Each time, she only applied slightly more pressure briefly and then went right back to the same light, half-hearted touch. It wasn’t intentional or attentive. Overall, the massage lacked detail, focus, and care. It made the entire experience uncomfortable and not relaxing at all. I have been a member at the Hand & Stone Columbia location for close to six months. I want to start by saying that the esthetician who provided my facials, Shakita, has been absolutely amazing. She is professional, knowledgeable, and consistently delivers excellent service. My positive experiences were solely because of her. Unfortunately, the front desk staff/receptionist and overall customer service have been extremely unprofessional and disappointing. My facial appointments were scheduled for Sundays at 6:45 PM, during normal business hours, as the spa is open until 8:00 PM. Despite this, before every single Sunday appointment, I was contacted repeatedly by the front desk staff/receptionist—via text messages, phone calls, and voicemails—asking me to come in earlier because they did no

The team here is great! From the receptionist staff to the therapists - everyone is welcoming, friendly, and experts at their craft. I have had massages here, and facials too - all enjoyed. I started my membership here a while back after I experienced lackluster customer service at another big named massage company that I had been with for years. Management changed there and processes and service changed dramatically. I have been pleased with my switch to Hand & Stone! Leon is my current massage therapist since he started at this location. He remembers preference now perfectly, so he can get right to work. I always leave feeling so calm and mellowed out - which we need in this high stress world! Thank you to the entire team.
