Hairapy

I made a first-time appointment for a haircut. I had no idea I would be treated to what I imagine to be a Great Clips/Sports Clips style experience. Penny used a spray bottle to mist my head, raked a comb through it, trimmed it and charged me $45. It literally took less than 10 minutes and I also had the luxury of going outside and shaking myself off like a dog to rid my face and shirt of my hair clippings. Shampoo? Nope. Relaxing cut? Nah, unless your idea of relaxing is Edward Scissorhands-esque. Any hint at styling? Absolutely not. A hairdryer to the face to blast off all your cut hair? Negative. I would say “you get what you pay for” but I feel $45 deserves a bit more than a dry cut.

It was my first time going to Miss Penny. She makes you feel very welcome. I will definitely be going back to her. I got a perm and it turned out great.

TL;DR: Penny might be an actual hair wizard, and now I'm never going in to see another stylist!  She works with your schedule, is INCREDIBLY kind and knowledgeable, and takes your ideas and turns them into reality! Let me start off by saying that this salon TRULY IS where "Hair Comes for Therapy". Because MAN, my hair needed therapy, so if you're looking for literal "Hairapy"?  If you're looking for some of the BEST, FUNNIEST, and DEEPEST conversation of your life--full of passion, heart, and soul, which, incidentally, also describes this amazing woman's work ethic as well--all while watching someone work *literal magic* on your hair?  Well, this is the place for you! Don't go in thinking you're going to find a hair babysitter, though!  Penny doesn't babysit her clients--as in, don't go

Ms. Penny was amazing! I visited her after many years without having a cut. She was understanding of my hesitations due to bad prior experiences with other stylists. I told her what I was looking for and she nailed it. I have NEVER stepped out of a salon so happy with the outcome. Even better, my hair feels the healthiest it's been in awhile. She's extremely knowledgeable about her craft and took great care of our curly hair! The first stylist to embrace the curls and not iron them flat. We will definitely be new regulars!

Penny’s been my stylist for years and is a true color wizard! I could never trust anyone else with my hair. I personally have several health issues including multiple autoimmune disorders and Penny has always been sensitive to my special needs and hair changes. I LOVE getting “Therapy” for my Hair at Penny-Marie’s Hairapy!!
