Coming from another Black person, man or woman, you have a really good chance of being racially profiled here. I had entered the store and almost immediately I had staff eyes on me. I just wanted to look at the product prices to see if they were cheaper than another place. While doing so I counted at least 4-5 different staff members “discreetly” watching me behind shelves. By the time I was about to leave, one of the workers (unsure of her position), came up to me and asked what I was doing. I explained simple and clear, and bottom line she did not believe me. She laughed in my face, and told me what I was doing wasn’t “appropriate”, suggesting I might be stealing information. Mind you, it’s all public. I am writing this review to share a recent experience that was both disappointing and troubling for my family. My child is currently completing a school research project that involves comparing the availability and pricing of beauty products across different stores. On this particular day, we visited two beauty supply stores for this purpose. At the first store, where a Black woman was working, my child quietly looked at products and noted prices. Although she did not formally ask permission beforehand — something we later acknowledged she should have done — the staff member simply wished her good luck on her project and did not raise any concerns. Hair World in Bear, Delaware, offers an impressive selection of hair products, combs, brushes, synthetic hair, make up, and wigs. It's a convenient spot for those looking for middle-of-the-road hairstyling solutions or needing something quickly. However, my recent visit was marred by a staff member's confusing and rude interaction when I was taking photos to showcase their variety. Despite no signage prohibiting photos, she claimed it was to hide the prices, which seemed absurd. This incident left me questioning their customer service and pricing transparency. Nonetheless, for a quick and varied selection, HairWorld remains a solid choice. I'll be investigating their prices further and will update this review accordingly.

I went to this beauty supply store to buy a few hair products when I was approaching by elder Asian woman in the Bear location accusing me of stealing and snatched the brush out of my hand. Th day prior I spent 150 in the store and today I spent 140. Dollars. The lady was diss respectful and stated to me “ I know how Brooklyn woman are after she asked me where I come from. I informed said woman that I don’t steal in fact I am a retired officer. She said she doesn’t care shen knows how people from Brooklyn are! I asked her to explain how we were and she couldn’t. Because of the Asian women I will not patronize this establishment any longer and I will tell all my friends and family to stay Away the store. They can take our money, but will never respect us. Ignorant workers who's nose is to high up in the air to see thier own nasty reflection smh. We really need to stop giving these shops our money and buy from our own. They couldn't even say anything back after saying Happy Black History Month...t(-_-t)
