I went to Shakila off a referral, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I sat in her chair, the conversation was easy and uplifting. She washed my hair so well — really taking her time and giving my locs the attention they needed. I had a lot of locs, and she was patient, gentle, and extremely detail-oriented. Her shop is clean, peaceful, and completely drama-free, a whole vibe in itself. And it’s also a blessing that she carries herself as a true woman of God. I genuinely enjoyed the entire experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend Shakila for anyone looking for someone who cares for both your hair and your spirit.

I got the interlock service done, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Phyllis, the stylist who worked on my hair, was absolutely fantastic. She was not only skilled but also took the time to explain how to properly maintain my locs and gave me some great tips for keeping them looking fresh. I really appreciated her professionalism and the care she took with my hair. The entire salon was welcoming, and the atmosphere made me feel relaxed and confident about the process. I didn’t like how I was treated here. For starters I asked for a simple “braid down” and was charged $65. Something that for sure is $40 max. Then when I get there I guess the owners mother was literally yelling at me telling me I was wrong for calling it a braid down after I showed her a picture. Apparently a braid down is not as “neat” and goes under a wig but the braids I wanted were considered “design” braids when it was literally just cornrows going to the left and to the right…. I was under the impression any professional braids done are supposed to be neat; and I specified I wanted cornrows on the phone but I was being chastised over technicalities… it just made me uncomfortable the way I was being spoken to.
