I had a disappointing experience during my visit. The instructor’s tone was noticeably sarcastic and unprofessional, which made the environment uncomfortable. In addition, the pricing structure was unclear and excessive. Charging one fee for hair dye and an additional fee for a basic blow-dry—classified as a ‘heated treatment’—is highly unusual, especially in a setting intended for learning and affordable services. For comparison, I typically go to Schilling-Douglas, and their structure and professionalism are far superior. I do, however, want to acknowledge that the student who serviced me was excellent—professional, attentive, and equally surprised by the pricing policies. She was the highlight of the experience despite the overall concerns.

I have a cosmetology license and was interested in furthering my education, but I was surprised to see that one of the listed requirements was “must be a U.S. citizen.” This is not only unnecessary, but also unprofessional, as state licensing only requires a Social Security Number, not citizenship. Asking for more than that can discourage qualified professionals from pursuing their education here.

I've had several good experiences but yesterday wasn't one. I had to wait because the students were on break. When I sat in the young man chair he didn't comb or pick my hair out he just started cutting. I made the mistake of saying fade but I actually wanted it tapered, to late 🫩. Good thing that hair grows back. The worst thing was when I showed the instructor who has over 30 years of experience the picture of what I wanted her reply was "ma'am he gave you exactly what you wanted!". I thought A fade shows scalp back and sides and a tapered doesn't. 🤔

I’ve been a client for well over 20 years. My oldest son got his cut when they were in the original location at the age of 6 he’s 27 now. My youngest has been visiting since he was 7 he’s now 21. I understand inflation and prices will increase but to charge me extra for the exact Mohawk I've been getting every 2 weeks for over a year is unacceptable. Am I complaining about $5 as one of the instructors ask me, yes I am. $5 is not the issue it’s the principle. Needless to say my family will not be returning and I will not be recommending anyone else to this school. My Barber Patrick did an excellent job!!!

I took a elder friend for a hair cut. The student and instructor was very accommodating. While I waited for my friend, I was asked a few times by different stylists if I needed service. I was impressed by the customer service. Plus, the basic rate for a man's haircut starts at $12. Nice.
