Ground Zero Mt Airy

The stylists here are super nice (and talented) and always make my hair look amazing. The atmosphere inside is nice as well. I’ve had my hair trimmed, bleached, dyed, etc. here and it’s always looked great.

It's been almost a month until I decide to write this review because I've been waiting to see if I grow to like my cut. I still don't. Whitney is a nice person but I wish she took a moment to look at my reference photos and videos carefully to really see what I wanted. She glanced at them and said it was easy. Turned out not. I was very nervous getting a huge chop to donate my hair. Spent 3 hours there just to end up with a round bowl mushroom head with no flow and no long graduation like I wanted. She did way too many layers and took away the natural flow, I even asked her what's the point of cutting all those layers mid cut but she didn't get it. I've been going to Erin for 4 yrs? now. She always listens to what I want and recently colored my hair. I am very happy! Very professional and great vibe too. They know their stuff! Have tried numerous salons, but I chose them! I'm very picky, esp about my neck hairline, Erin is amazing. I won't go to anyone else!

I recently moved to the neighborhood and needed to find a new hair salon. I searched around for a place close to me and found Ground Zero. I called them up and got a SATURDAY appointment for that week which I was stoked about. Salon is super chill, relaxed environment. The receptionist/assistant was so nice. Got me coffee and some coffee cake as soon as I walked in. My appointment was with Wendy who I discovered was also the owner. Got a great vibe from her right away. Could tell she knew her stuff instantly. I needed some color correction which wasn't going to be a one shot kinda deal which she explained (always appreciated) Wendy absolutely SLAYED my hair color. I have been getting compliments daily since I had my hair done. She was so great good conversation. Could not be happier. So gl

My whole life I have gone to barbers, but I gave this place a shot after being frustrated with my usual spot. I have been very impressed. Erin in particular has been so fantastic, listens to you when you explain what you want, quick, makes you comfortable… all around Ground Zero is great people and they’re honestly a great value, especially given the quality of the cuts.
