Great Clips

My stylist was Martha and she was amazing!I have long wavy/straight hair. I asked for 1 1/1 inch off, no layers more a blunt cut in the back but not too thick/chunky at the bottom, if she could thin it out and she did it so well! I usually get my haircut at Great Clips and so far this my go to location.

Women hairstylists are amazing. The guy with the beard lacks common sense and has an attitude. Negative vibe

I was in Irvine California from June to August doing an internship with NASA. I had been growing my hair for 2.5 years and decided on my last day of the internship that I wanted to donate my hair for someone with cancer. I've done it three times before in my life and knew Great Clips supports that cause. I went to this facility and my hairstylist, Patricia, told me my ponytail was only "7.5 inches" and that my hair needed to be 12 inches to donate it and get a free haircut. I told her I thought it was 12 inches, but that I would take the ponytail with me and see if I could donate it elsewhere. Patricia charged me full price and refused to accept a coupon I had. When I flew back to my hometown in Chicago the next day, I measured my ponytail and was heartbroken to find that it was indeed 12

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE CURLY OR TEXTURED HAIR. I wanted some simple layers in my hair and only an inch off the longest layer because of shrinkage. Monica cut off at least 4 inches, leaving me with significantly shorter hair. She also half blow dried my hair and did no styling. I came home with short wet hair and an uneven part because she didn’t care to fix that either. Would not recommend.

This review is for the Great Clips in Campus Plaza. I’ve been here many times over the course of my studies at UCI for their cheap prices. Your experience here will be a luck of the draw depending on who cuts your hair. Kevin and Tamy are amazing— they’re very responsive to your preferences and do their best to communicate their intentions. They also seem very driven to give you the best cut possible. The rest of the staff can be described as the complete opposite: they do not care what instructions you give them. Today, I went in with the intention of getting a small trim (about 1/2 inch scissor cut), I communicated this to the lady very clearly, and yet she proceeded to cut most of my hair away (At least 1 1/2 inches)!
