Working with Heather Fortune has truly been the best hair experience I've ever had. As someone with with fine hair, I've always struggled to find a stylist who could help me achieve a longer, fuller look that still fits my lifestyle- and Heather nailed it. She takes her time at every appointment, so I never feel rushed, and her color work is pure magic. On top of being incredibly talented, Heather is just amazing to be around. The vibe at Fuss and Bother is super calming, with soft lighting, plenty of space, and even a salon cat to keep you company. Highly recommend.

Heather Fortune was fantastic!! I wasn't sure if I would be able to describe (let alone achieve) the cut I was going for, but she made it easy! Seriously the best haircut I've ever gotten!

After moving to NC, I was trying to figure out how to find a great hairstylist. My searches led me here, to Fuss & Bother. It is situated in a cute house off of Ashe St. and even has a friendly resident cat! I had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Alison Nickles. She & I had talked about a good razor cut to my long mop of overgrown hair. She is very skilled at cutting hair with a razor. Historically, I usually go through a strange period of not liking how my hair looks for a couple of weeks after a haircut. I actually loved my hair right away... it's two weeks later, and I still love the cut and the way the layers in my hair move. Alison is friendly and wonderful. I'll most certainly be back!

Got a transformative haircut here and Anna did an amazing job! I've never felt more like myself than I do with this cut. Anna used my vision and inspiration pictures, and she worked with the wavy texture of my hair to create a low-maintenance haircut. I was really nervous to change the shape of my hair and get an alternative cut, so I'm very glad I found this salon! All the stylists seemed so wonderful. I would totally recommend Anna based off my personal experience with her, but I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with anyone here.

Kristen is AMAZING. We did a transformational cut that I gave her pretty vague guidelines for and she still crushed it. She’s a wonderful person to talk to as well, and the salon was super clean and relaxing.
