First Step Beauty - Braids LLC

I came to this business for human hair braids, because I have an allergy to synthetic hair. I sent a picture to the owner with the style I wanted, however when I got there, the hair she had did not match the color and according to the braider was not enough hair for what I wanted to do. I was forced to go to a beauty supply store to purchase new hair that was very expensive. After the braiding was complete I went home and immediately realized the knots were coming out and the braids were coming apart. In order to save them I put in rubber bands. When I called in the morning, the owner said the only thing she could do is have me come in to fix them. However, I was leaving that day for a trip and she said sorry the best she could do was give me money off my next braiding. I did not want that

I had a great experience from booking to finish. Janette was professional and friendly throughout. I got exactly what I wanted the style is great. And she had a great beauty supply selection! I love the waist beads!

I had an awesome first time experience at First Step Beauty! Truthfully, it was the best time I've ever had at a styling salon! My stylist Jaye (not sure of spelling) was kind and amazing! And Janet runs a clean and professional salon. I had not given my hair the full attention it needed. I love my hair but life gets busy for us all! My stylist Jaye gave it new life and I was so satisfied with what I call her yin yang techniques (firm yet gentle) and the entertainment made it all fun! Yes entertainment.. with the Caribbean music in the background, she sung like a pro! Loved the experience and so happy with my revitalize dreads. She even took pics for me! Come on now! That's definitely a first! That said, my first visit at First Step Beauty in Providence RI will certainly not be my last!

the best salon ever! I got long box braids extra long! ( to the back of my knee) the salon was patient great service and beyond great work! Have been here three times now over the past year and love how the braids come out. Neat and fast process for my very very thick hair. They ask what you want and deliver. Now my go-to spot for braids!
