exhale Spa at Virgin Hotels, NYC

Terrible experience all around. There are 100 other spas in NYC that I can almost assure you will give you a better experience 10 out of 10 times. I walked into the locker room there were towels all over the floor and shoes everywhere. It smelled like a gym. Half of the "amenities" weren't working. I waited for my massage (note they literally have an office water machine for drinks) and 10 minutes past my appointment passed. After asking the front desk I was greeted only to start 15 minutes late. The massage then ended 15 minutes early. I had a gift card for majority of the payment so I let the front desk know I would provide the gift card but given the 60 minute massage was only 45 minutes I was not going to pay the difference as I didn't receive the full service. I’m really frustrated by the experience we had with exhale at the Virgin Hotel. Based on their polished website and glowing reviews, I came in with big expectations. When we arrived, I was given a towel with stains on it. Then, after changing in the messy changing room, we were greeted by half of the facilities on site being broken. After spending 5 minutes in the spa, we decided to go to another bathhouse that was a 10 minute walk away, which was significantly better. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1 star is because the staff at the front desk were kind enough not to charge us for our visit after I let them know about our dissatisfaction.

The entire experience was flawless. The facility smells amazing and is very clean. The staff was friendly, especially Erika. I used the salt room with the leg compression devices and felt very relaxed. Will definitely be coming back!

Very lovely and intimate spa setting. I love the wet sauna. Ryan was extremely accommodating and helpful and loved being able to go straight upstairs for dinner

Loved it! Super clean, the new Nike dumbbells are available, it’s very intimate, all techogym machines are available, there’s great rooftops of the city, zen room is just pure bliss along with snow room, sauna and steam. Also, did I mention that the front desk staff was amazing? Mark, Cerenity and Rebeca made me feel so welcomed as well as the Spa Director Erika.
