Essence of spa

Bought a Groupon for a premium massage which is normally $149 for a 60 min with aromatherapy, hot stones and foot scrub. The Groupon was a deal as I purchased it to for $70. Forgot to ask the masseuse's name but it was a male. He did a good job focused on my back like I requested. It was very relaxing and areas were very clean. They have some early bird specials and if you purchase a gift card for several you get a better deal. Located on Ventura so only street parking but had no issues.

I have been here two times for a combo massage with two different masseuse technicians. They were both good . I would say I had good experiences both times. Place is small but they have several rooms and the spa setting and location is relaxing. Meter parkings or you can park in the little streets on the side.

This place is the definition of unprofessional. I purchased three gift cards AFTER their management change in April, yet when my friend tried to redeem hers, she was told the business “changed management” and they are now refusing to honor ANY gift cards sold before the change. Except mine were purchased after. So that excuse doesn’t even make sense. No refund. No credit. No solution. Just “there is nothing we can do.” One employee even pretended to be the owner on the phone, which turned out to be a lie. When I showed up in person this employee continued to be disrespectful, smirking the entire time and dismissing everything I said while I remained respectful. Poor customer service since the owner changed. Never answers the calls, not allowing to use the voucher that was purchased few months ago and does not do anything about it. I also went into make an appointment for the next day, and the employee tells me she doesn't know the schedule for the next day, so I can't make an appointment. Such a waste of time and never heard anyone says that when I actually went inside to make the appointment. I used to love this place before the owner changed, but now, I cannot recommend this place anymore. Definitely not!

New management, and new style. very nice atmosphere. Massage was great and professional. Kiwi was the one that welcome me when I walk in. Very friendly and big beautiful smile, which is very nice. Her massage skills are excellent. She took good care of my knot in my shoulder. very deep massage. I left very relaxed. Very professional. Parking available in the street, or a few spot available in the back of the spa. You should really visit this spa.
