I have super straight, fine hair — and I’ve had my fair share of not-so-great haircuts from stylists who just didn’t get it. But Reina GETS IT and she’s the only stylist I fully trust! She listens very closely, checks in to make sure we’re on the same page, and even looked back at notes from my appointment a year ago. I can actually relax in the chair with her. this was my second time coming to ESHK Brooklyn; after i left my first visit with the most gorgeous color and blowout, i did not think my satisfaction could be topped. However, this time I received coloring again from Mariah who slayed just as hard if not harder than last time, and the Reiki healing cut with Kaori, who was so incredibly sweet, thorough, calming and talented. She listened to my (vague) vision of my hair and brought her magic to life giving me the best haircut i've ever received. Reina is a true artist. She really understands wavy hair and how to create excellent movement in a cut whether you are wearing it in a naturally wavy way or straightened. This is a skill the majority of hairdressers I’ve tried in my lifetime have not achieved! She is honest and gentle in her thoughts and will guide you towards what tones would look best, while still keeping the absolute best parts of what you wanted! Also, if you have bangs, she fully understands how to make them sit perfectly. Although this studio is slightly pricier than others in the area, it is worth it.
