Elements Massage

I don’t treat myself often, rarely even. So when my employer booked me an appointment as an early Xmas gift/Appreciation gift, I literally wept happy tears. This experience was wonderful. The front desk was welcoming and polite. It was a quick check in process. The atmosphere is serene and quiet in the lobby as well as the waiting area. I was greeted by my therapist, Marcus, promptly. He walked me to the room and we had a brief but informative discussion as to how it all worked, what my areas of concern are, etc. His manner and energy were calming, quiet, and I appreciate that as someone who’s only ever had a massage on a vacation 15+ years ago… I can only describe Marcus’s hands like heat seeking missiles. He found knots and tensions spot I never knew existed. It’s eye opening to realize

I liked everything about the experience. The facility was bright and welcoming, the staff was friendly and helpful, the massage room was comfortable and relaxing, and the therapist was very nice and proficient. I went for lower back pain and decided to sign up for the monthly agreement, so there you go.

I had a very bad massage from David B. at Elements Massage in Bridgewater, MA. He massaged areas I told him not to (which hurt me more and was intrusive) and did not massage areas I wanted him to like my neck even though I explicitly told him to leave time for that area. He became defensive when I advocated for myself stating, "I have won awards and have been doing this for 30 years, so I know what I am doing." He had a poor attitude and negative tone throughout the massage which created a lot of stress psychologically and physically as I left the massage feeling worse. I spoke to the manager afterwards who appeared empathic and told me he would speak to David and then call me back. That was two weeks ago and I have heard nothing, so I am wondering if he was just appeasing me in the moment

My massage therapist was very professional. He not only did a great massage, he also helped me understand my pain and ways to address it.

This is not a review of the individual massage therapists, but of the company and receptionist. I felt like I was getting a sales pitch as soon as a I walked in and then again at check out. On top of that, the person tried to make small talk but ended up criticizing me a few times instead. It made me really uncomfortable. I will never go back to this location.
