Drybar - Tampa - Carrollwood

I love Drybar. I’ve been going to Drybar locations for years, but this one has quickly become my favorite. I’ve had the chance to meet both the owner and the manager, and they are truly so kind—it really shows in the overall vibe of the space. Every stylist I’ve seen here has been friendly, talented, and consistently gives an amazing blowout. I always have such a good time when I’m there, and I genuinely leave feeling better than when I walked in. It’s one of those places you look forward to visiting and can always count on.

I love DryBar Carrollwood! Nikki is the BEST! I’m so grateful for her, she has saved me for many occasions from work to events and everything in between. She is very skilled at all styles and has a great personality to top it off, so every visit is like spending it with a friend! The location has a great staff, is clean, & always dependable. I highly recommend DryBar to anyone in the area!

I can now understand why the overall rating of this location is so low. The salon setup is unusual: there’s a full wall of mirrors, yet your chair faces away from them the entire time. Because you can’t see yourself during the service, you have no way to guide the stylist or clarify what you’re trying to achieve. A “bouncy blowout” can mean different things to different people, and being unable to see the progress means you can’t request adjustments until it’s too late. For most of the appointment, you’re simply looking at the receptionist or a wall. I requested a bouncy blowout, which in my experience typically means no heat tools beyond the dryer, but heat tools were used anyway. This was my first ever blowout outside of the salon since having extensions for the last 5 years. I was super excited! I had 3 different hair stylists throughout my appointment which was already a big turn off, but I will say they all seemed really nice. They were aware I had extensions and since it was an option on the menu I figured they would be well versed in handling them. However the blowout was extremely rough and I was afraid they were either going to rip my extensions out or remove hair from the row. They also held super hot heat to my hair for a long time. When I went to my hair appointment to get my hair moved up at my normal salon last week my hair dresser let me know that a chunk of my extension hair had been singed off in the back due to holding high eat in the same spot fo

This was the worst blowout I have ever received. I left with so much frizz, and to make it worse, I specifically asked for the “Southern Comfort” style but ended up with something completely different. I am extremely disappointed with the quality and attention to detail. I would appreciate it if management could give me a call to discuss this experience further.
