Drybar - Burbank

13+ year Drybar customer & Barfly member. Frequented New York, Atlanta, and other locations all of the country during this time. Live in Los Angeles and now closest to the Burbank location. I must say there are several very talented hairstylists that work at this location and this is not a reflection of them. The issue obviously stems from the management/owners and the front desk. They habitually run extremely behind for appointments. It’s my understanding from the stylists that they have reduced the amount of time they allow for them to complete each client while also adding more appointments for higher volume, hence the constant running behind. I've been to multiple Drybar locations and have always enjoyed my blowouts, aside from regularly LONG wait times to get seen, until today. I arrived to my appointment exactly 15 minutes late due to a delivery that ran later than planned (I needed to be home for this delivery). Life happens, and I own my lateness, but I also figured due to Drybar RARELY taking me right when I arrive it wouldn't be an issue. Instead, I was staggeringly TURNED AWAY at the door and told they have a "10 minute grace policy" which was total news to me. Their site clearly stipulates no such thing and only vaguely says that they "may" cancel late appointments, no mention of timeline (and most places will offer a 15 minute grace period, which I was within the confines of, not 10). I was a bit skeptical booking because I saw this place had a 3 star review and it was my first time booking at any drybar location but overall I did get what I paid for. I had a good experience at this drybar location. I got the hairstyle for my graduation ceremony and it lasted ! The hairdresser and the front desk girl were very nice. I would comeback again. ⭐️

I have been here approx 10 times over the past year and 90% of the appointments have started over 15 minutes late. A couple times I was waiting 30 minutes. Each time they are not very apologetic and blame it on other customers being late but in reality the appointment to staff ratio is poorly planned. About half the stylists here are skilled and half are new and / or not great. For $70 getting a sub par blow out from a beginner who takes an hour to do a basic blow out is a rip off. Overall poorly run, disrespect customers time and have many unskilled or inexperienced stylists.

I had my first Drybar experience yesterday. I was a bit skeptical on how well the stylists there would do with Black hair. Amie was my stylist and she did such an amazing job. My hard felt soft, silky, and looked amazing. The curls bounce, and she didn’t use a ton of product on my hair. The best part was, she completed the job in an hour and 10 minutes. I’m sold on Drybar and bought a membership. Thank you Amie!
