Disco Salon

Received a cut from Katie, and for the first time in my entire life I am wearing my curly hair natural every day with minimal effort. I explained to her how I’ve never had a cut that works well for my curls, and that I also like to use a flat iron to do a smooth curl sometimes. She suggested a hybrid scissors/razor cut, and I can’t express how amazing it is to wake up in the morning, give my hair a quick water spritz, add some cream, let it air dry, and always love it (see first picture). It may sound dramatic, but liking my natural hair for the first time has been life changing! Thank you, Katie!

The vibe of the salon is amazing--airy, open. Welcoming and funky. And around Christmastime? What you'd want a disco to look like during the holiday season. It's seriously a mini-getaway. I've been going to Jo Wilson, aka Hair Daddy Jo, for a few years now. I've had few different textures of hair -- usually at the same time -- and varying amounts of hair. Each time, after careful consultation and with a realistic perspective on how much time I want to spend on my hair day-to-day lol, I walk out with my hair looking like a million bucks. Every time Jo cuts my hair, the whole experience brings joy. Last time, I wasn't even into the length they suggested -- but I rolled with Jo's vision and it was the best haircut I've ever had (so far!)! Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Jo was an incredible stylist who truly listened and took my personal style and ideas into account for a hairstyle I’ve been developing over several years. They helped refine the lines of my cut with care and precision, walking me through the entire process with patience and attention to detail. The salon itself fosters an atmosphere of acceptance, especially for neurodivergent individuals and those exploring identity expression. It felt like a genuinely safe and welcoming space. Somewhere I could relax and feel at ease. The waiting area, though I didn’t spend much time there as I arrived early, was cozy and thoughtfully equipped with fidget toys and reading materials. The salon is housed in a beautifully renovated church, which really highlights the love and intention poured into the spa

I am so beyond happy with how my hair turned out. First of all, the salon vibes are A1, never seen or been to a cooler salon. Second of all, and most importantly, Katie was AWESOME. She knew exactly what I wanted, and we had a great time. She was professional and fun and time flew by for me while I was in her chair. The best stylist I have ever been to. Please check her out!
