Curly Hair Austin

I have been going to Curly Hair Austin for almost two years and have never been more happy with my hair. I have tried over five different stylists in the 10 years I have been in Austin and this has been the best experience I’ve had so far. I have gone to Charley Adams exclusively since I started (he is the man), but the entire staff are very warm and professional. Charley listens well and has always been able to bring my vision to life the right way for my curl pattern. I haven’t ever trusted someone with my hair like I do him. Located right by the northbound exit for 360 off of 183, Curly Hair Austin is in an inconspicuous building, Solar Salons. There are a family of small suites inside with varying beauty services - it’s honestly a really interesting model to find reasonable rent for

10/10 experience. I’ve been growing my hair out for about a year and a half and seriously needed a trim to balance everything out. Savannah did an amazing job she talked me through the entire process, answered all of my questions, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. My hair feels healthier and the shape looks so much better. Definitely recommend.

The Salon: I went there for the first time and completely missed the fact that it is inside Sola Salons, so just a heads up there. It's super cute inside with a bunch of little shops and Curly Hair Austin has a small 2 seat salon. It was pretty nice not having a million and one people in there like a usual larger salon. The Cut: Charlie is awesome. I went there for the first time and he was very focused and asked me/listened to what I wanted done, and styled my hair beautifully after the cut was done. I've had nightmare experiences, as most curly haired people have (getting layers when I asked for none, cutting front part way too short, etc.), and this was a great experience. I was not impressed with the level of customer service for my initial appointment with Charley (received no education on the products he was using on my hair that day or on the state my hair was in and suggestions to make it healthier). I asked for face framing layers in the front and left with very blunt/choppy cut in the front with uneven pieces on the sides of my face. I scheduled a new appointment to get this fixed and he did not show up, nor did he reach out later to explain his no show. Luckily the hair stylist there (Savannah) was able to help me while her client was getting her hair dryer. She was much more thorough in understanding the cut I wanted and was willing to look at my reference photos. She handled the unfortunate situation in a very professional manner.

I’ve seen Sherry twice now. She’s such a sweetie & does great work! My hair type is looser wavy/curly & she’s always been comfortable with it & consultative on what would look best. Love her!
