Coconut Nail Bar

I tried this place because neos nails on the alameda is good but could be better, so why not try another place. I go to a lot of cheaper places so I don’t expect a lot except cleanliness and no pain. Got a gel manicure and pedicure here for $80. I would spend double that to never come here again. Wow this was a painful pedicure. The electric nail file cut my skin and cuticle multiple times. He used the tool to clean under my nails and then wiped it on the top of my foot which was gross and hurt because it scraped my skin. Cuticle cream was not used before cuticle removed. He started to go for an ingrown nail but I stopped him because I knew based on his other actions it would hurt, plus they’re not really supposed to do that. I went in for a quick afternoon pedicure. I run and have a bruised toe nail, so the original color I picked was too light. I picked another and the nail color did not cure properly (it crinkled) and the color on my toes is not the same as the one I picked from the samples (I chose one that was more mauve). I pointed it out and the tech pretended not to hear me or understand what I was saying and didn’t fix the polish or allow me to look at the samples to compare what I chose vs what was put on my toes. I paid $50 for a terrible pedicure and I do not recommend this place.

The nail salon I originally went to was closed and I only had time today, so I searched Google and made a reservation last weekend. According to reviews, they were the best last year but are no longer there. The owner has changed and the detail is surprisingly poor. Oh my...I wanted gradient nails and she just applied them with her fingers instead of a brush. The second picture is the one I showed her. I don't understand why there are discontinue discounts. Don't expect anything. This nail service is below average. I made the split second decision to go to the coconut nail bar today before my meeting. Even though I was a walk-in they took me in very quick! Cristina did my acrylic removal and pink/white ombré dip powder service and Jenny did my pedicure. I haven't had a pedicure in a while due to schedule but Jenny did wonders with getting off all the dead skin and making my feet presentable again. When I wasn't sure if the color I picked suited, she offered to let me pick another which was very sweet. Jenny is very meticulous with her color application and with making sure that any hangnails are removed. I had a great experience at Coconut Nail Bar! I walked in for a manicure and pedicure and I very happy with the service. The place is clean and well appointed and the staff is friendly and professional. They offer a rewards card for recurrent guests!
