Chestnut Barbershop LLC

Went to a few places that were full, found this place. My 3yr old was almost to tears when he thought he couldn't get his hair cut, so he was so happy there was an opening. The stylist was friendly, skilled and good with my child. I would highly recommend this place! Make an appointment today!!

I cannot rate the service because I was unable to receive any. I understand that barber shops are not what they used to be; the days of dropping by for a haircut are long gone. If you don't have an appointment, forget it. They may, in fact, be wonderful folks, but I'll never know. Encouraged by strong reviews, I tried several times to get in. Alas, my several attempts to drop in at various times were always met with, "sorry, not today." My only suggestion is to take down the large sign in the window that says, "Walk-ins welcome." Customers like me would prefer an honest, "Appointments Recommended."

As someone who has thick, dark hair- I typically get a fade with some texture on the top for styling. I’ve been to most of the barbers in Bellingham; and must say that Aaron tops all. You gotta book an appointment, because he takes his time, and that’s a good thing. It’s the go-to-spot for the 2026 new year.

My boyfriend got his hair cut here, and showed them reference photos of what he wanted. He wanted his hair to still be fluffy and medium-long. They did the exact OPPOSITE of what he wanted, cutting his hair WAY too short to the point where he now looks like a dork. Thankfully it will grow back soon, but yeah… do NOT go to this place, they are not trustworthy and will let you down.

Aaron is a fantastic barber. I’ve been out to see him 3 times since October and I’m always impressed with his attention to detail and the haircuts and beard trims have always been spot on.
