I had the best experience at Checkered Chair! From the very beginning, Alyssa was extremely professional during our initial consultation and even provided a quote and estimate before the service. She really listened to exactly what I wanted, and my lived-in blonde balayage came out absolutely perfect. The haircut and layers were also perfection. I have very thick hair and she really crafted a cut that suited my hair type. Beyond her talent, Alyssa is incredibly kind and easy to talk to. Her space is clean, welcoming, and comfortable. I’m so happy to have finally found a stylist in the Boston area, and I can’t wait to be back! Highly recommend.

Alyssa is the best! She’s so sweet and personable. She recently moved to the My Salon Suite in Watertown and it’s such a great space. My appointment was relaxing and intimate as it was just Alyssa and me in the room. Alyssa understands my vision with my hair and helps me achieve my hair goals. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to get their hair done.

I got a blowout and a bang trim and the service was phenomenal. I appreciated the tips and advice given by Alyssa and the care she provided when working with my hair. Also very cute private salon space. I took a risk by going to a new hair stylist since I just moved here and it was worth the risk!

Alyssa is a great hairdresser. Every time I went to her she knew exactly what I want and the results ended up to be amazing. She took care of my hair so well and now I have healthy beautiful her all thanks to her. She is super patient and friendly too.

Alyssa is literally the BEST. Not only does she give an INCREDIBLE hair cut and have an amazing ability to take an idea/vision and tailor it to what will genuinely look good on you (we LOOOOVE an honest and reliable girlie!!), she also has super reasonable and fair rates for cuts/blow outs/style and I love the products she stocks (again, great quality for a fair price). Her setup in My Salon is awesome and such a luxe experience. Major bonus points that she’s also just genuinely so kind, lovely, friendly and generous w her time and work. Truly could not recommend more!!!
