I received a hair cut from Shawn 2 months ago and still love it. Not only was she a nice person but she is clearly a talented stylist. She gave me some great advice for my long term hair goals. She recommended some products but also didn’t try to get me to buy stuff I didn’t need. I walked out feeling so happy with my new cut. I strutted down the sidewalk like I was walking down the runway. The salon was clean and decorated nicely. She took my temperature, washed her hands, had sanitizer available, had a text/remote checkin system, and was masked the entire time. I have a rare but serious scalp condition. I have been to 60 different natural salons in the last 6 months in search of a stylist who can do REAL coils. What a waste of hundreds of dollars. When I came to CURLS, KINKS, and COILS I was expecting the same disappointment. But my stylist KRYSTIN was so patient and the most talented I’ve ever witnessed. I LOVE my coils!! If you looking for a coil person, she’s definitely it!! such perfect coils. They look like hot curls!! She is absolutely the best in the city of Philadelphia. Trust me....Unfortunately, I’ve been EVERYWHERE! This is girl has crazy talent! She deserves more than 5 stars!

My first experience was wonderful. My second experience was awful. This business is motivated by greed not a genuine desire to uplift and serve their community. I paid an initial $65 for my appointment. I had to cancel due to a positive Covid case in my classroom. My appointment was scheduled for Friday, I canceled on a Tuesday. I rebooked and paid an additional $58 thinking both of these fees would count toward my styling. Because I canceled and rebooked instead of rescheduling they would only use $58 toward my styling. So As a business owner myself. I understand that people make errors. It’s not like I canceled and didn’t rebook. So in total I lost $123 but I do not that these are not the kinds of hands I want on my hair so it was worth it. I read another negative review about the vibe

Best natural stylists around. Shawn and Krystin are both patient in explaining how to care for your hair, just be sure to communicate effectively. They’re both very gentle. I wear a hydrate and define aka wash and go, and they are helping me perfect my technique. They’re both personable and friendly. The vibe is neat clean modern classy. Temps are taken. Masked are worn. And sanitizer is provided in response to Covid protocols. Most importantly, they respect your time. After going to them for 18 months, I applaud them for respecting my time and getting me in and out quickly. Call if you need to reschedule, do not use the online system. They system will charge you a second deposit because it’s computerized. Live communication is key.
