I went in for a haircut with all over color and highlights, darker for the winter- I told him that they usually end up blending together since my hair is thin, but that I wanted them to be chunky and more visible. He knew exactly what to do, he layered the brown base color with a lighter tone on top and darker tone underneath and then sliced the light blonde highlights in between the layers so they stand out as my hair moves and is styled differently. Like, some are visible with it all down, more stand out if I curl it, or when I pin a side up or pull the top half up, different highlights stand out when I use gel/mousse and scrunch it with a blow dryer. I've been going to Jay for years and I really like him and what he does. I had a bad experience at a Cost Cutters during my first hair cut and I was scared to cut off more than like 1/4 inch for the longest time because I didn't trust people to cut my hair in fear of them screwing it up again. The previous lady cut out my natural curl and now it's a wavy because of it. Fast forward like 2-3 years after I net Jay I trusted him to cut off around 8 inches which is the most I've ever got cut off at once to my knowledge. He was the first person since that bad experience that I've trusted enough to do that. I've finally built up that trust with him that I've never had with any beautician like ever. He's very professional and sweet and he tries to push you push of your comfort zone but in the end
