Carol's Elegant Afro Amer Hair

I went to get my hair braided last night and at the end of my appointment I noticed that she did box braids instead of knotless braids. When I questioned her about it, she kept saying no I did boho braids (which is what I asked for), but I specifically wanted knotless braids not box braids. So I just let that go. But she only dipped the ends of my hair, and the rest of my braids were very stiff. I told her to dip all of my braids in the water to take away the stiffness, She tells me no because of the curly pieces will get tangled if she does. The next day, (today) I call her to tell her that I need my braids redipped. She tells me no. Moral of the story is she’s all about her money not the client and she does your hair how she wants your hair to be done. Not how you ask. But when you pay

Carole Hair Braiding does great work. Carole is about her money. Especially if she doesn't know you. My children and I have been going to her for at least 6 years. I don't mind the other braiders not speaking much, they don't speak a lot of English. Some of the other reviews make me chuckle. Yes, she is expensive at times. Respect her skill. She'll take care of you.

I had a stylist cancel on me the day before my trip. I called Carol and she made a way to fit me in just in time for my trip. Excellent work and was fast. Since then I’ve been coming to her to put my braids in and she even take them out for a small fee. Love it here and I’ve been back 3 times for braids and she took them out every time without hair loss.

Pros: I've always been able to set an appointment right away. The work is neat. Cons: Carol the owner is going to do your Senegalese twist the way SHE wants them & does NOT care how YOU want them!! I've been going to this shop for the last 7 years & I like my hair best when the other ladies do it. Carol's sections are too small, she puts too much hair in the braids so they end very full & sitting on top of your head like a bad wig!! I've asked her twice to not put as many braids in my hair & she just dismisses my request & puts twice the amount of braids needed. I care about my hair & I know that those heavy full braids can do damage. I've had some really good experiences here with the other ladies but it's a gamble on who you're going to get when you make your appointment.

I gave them a picture and got exactly what I wanted. Their work is clean, fast and its a good environment. I've been to some terrible places, so I was relieved this was different.
