Carla's Curl Up N Color

We had a good experience with Carla for my daughter's wedding updo. Carla definitely is down-to-earth and doesn't charge a lot (like others will) and even came to the event to do my daughter's and the bridesmaids' hair. So we were grateful for that especially since nobody else could come that weekend without months in advance notice. The hairstyle turned out great and my daughter felt like a princess. It is important to note, as Carla will say herself, she really specializes in doing curled (with curling iron) hairstyles (no braids, especially). I must note she's got that friend-of-the-family persona, especially at her salon. Carla has cut my hair for years. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. She has a wonderful personality. I would recommend her if you want a great haircut.

I hate to leave a bad review because the lady was really nice but I don't wish for anyone to have the experience I had. I asked her if she was familiar with biracial hair before hand and told her I was nervous about bleach on my roots ... she did it anyways... I let her know when it was burning.... she went in on my hair with no plan no strategy and no technique at all was provided the color placement was tacky and spotty and did not flow which is what a balayage mostly does... I did go to another salon in Charleston immediately afterwards and was told it would cost $250.00 to correct what she had done... I almost paid it but out of fear from what had just happened at Carla's I decided to continue to do my own hair for the rest of my life time. I asked for a balayage with blonde or carame

Carla is AMAZING!! This was my first time going 2 her but she makes ya feel so comfortable and stress-free it was like I've known her my whole life. She listens 2 what ya want done, talks ya thru the entire process and I honestly couldn't believe how fast she got it all done! I've only been there 3 times in 5 years ( I don't like to get my hair cut) but I won't go anywhere else. Shes good, quick and has an amazing personality. I highly recommend her.
