I had my tooth extraction by Dr Scheive on Friday Oct 3 rd. Was referred to him by my Dentist Dr Barnes. I should have done some research and checked the reviews before going through with him. I have had tooth extracted before but this one was a bad experience. It was excruciatingly painful and he did not bother to make it a comfortable experience. No wonder the reviews are bad. Never going there again and will tell my friends too.

BEWARE OF BILLING! My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed and the procedure went fine. Only saw the doctor once during consultation and he did not do the follow up, it was a hygienist I believe. Office staff is not at all friendly and have no clue what they are doing with insurance. They do not submit claims in a timely manner and don't use the correct Dx codes to get approval from insurance carrier. But don't worry, they will just charge you 6 months later for their carelessness.

Had my wisdom teeth out here in 2019. They damaged a nerve at the time and I lost feeling on the entire right side of my tongue. When I called the office to ask about what happened, they just said “your wisdom teeth were hard to get out.” Five years later I still have both some numbness and extreme pain in the spot that was damaged. Do NOT recommend.

Terrible office. Said my son covered for molar extraction. When we show up for surgery they tell us it is not covered and we have to pay out of pocket so we left. Then they try charging for the consultation. The hours are terrible so trying to get ahold of someone after 4 is impossible. The answering service wont take messages. They wont email anything because they dont have a scanner but offer to fax it. Its 2023 get with the times. Offices like this wont last much longer. Staff is rude and just tries to pass blame onto patients.

My husband had previously visited Dr. Boyer with success and I had referred several people to this practice. When it was time for me to visit, I was scared based upon the reviews here. I visited the very calm and peaceful Wheaton office. The receptionist was super nice upon my arrival. I checked in and filled out the forms and they took me back. I told them immediately that I had a panic attack and they all tried their best to calm me down. Dr. Boyer was extremely kind, knowledgeable and soothing. They made sure that I very numb, comfortable and informed before proceeding. I was worried about the tooth that they were working on because of it's poor condition, but Dr. Boyer was exceptionally skilled and was successful - quickly and painlessly!
