Thoroughly disappointed with my experience here. Everything was great until I dared to try on a wig. A woman appeared out of nowhere exclaiming that I’m not allowed to try on wigs because I have locs. I’m curious, has anyone had a similar experience? Is this really ‘store policy’ or did she just make a judgement based on my appearance? I was really looking forward to supporting a local store and not dumping thousands into some online retailer. I recently relocated here after a brief stint overseas and was really looking forward to trying this place out after hearing that they had a pretty decent selection of human hair wigs.

This is a Hidden Gem I've lived in Bakersfield 3 years and did not know it was here until I Googled the beauty supplies. There is a big selection of synthetic and human hairs plenty of wigs and other tools for installation there's even a great selection of hair color including Manic Panic and Sparks. Not a very big selection of beads for braiding but a decent selection of beads for dreads. They keep the latch hooks in the crochet hooks for installations behind the counter so you'll have to ask for them.

It’s extremely bad. I’ve definitely been treated better. I will make this short and sweet myself, and my grandson and a girlfriend went in there. I kept my grandson between myself and my girlfriend I was always making sure my grandson wasn’t touching anything he was being on his best behavior. He was literally between us the whole time and I’m talking maybe 4 feet between us. We were there for about 35 minutes in my bag was getting for random lady who works there comes over and says can you make sure you watch your child? I was confused because he was never on his side. He was between us too and I felt myself begin to feel some type of way. It’s a racial term or African urban. i’ve been coming to this store Since when they first opened when Andy was the owner Andy was very kind and friendly made u feel welcomed and the people that worked along him were also friendly and kind when he worked inside the store. I’m not sure if he’s still the manager or not because i never see him anymore and i do know he has a store in L.A.Andy would be upset if he is still the owner to hear how rude these new people are and how uncomfortable they make u feel with the racial profiling it’s so close to my house which is why i tried to ignore it .Ive only tried to return something maybe 3 times out of all the years ive been coming here once when Andy was around and twice since the new people have been there ,with Andy it was not a problem no refunds but u could get credit to use the n

Everything was normal, until my daughter and got greeted too man times , continue to talk around and shop around the store , I was greeted once again . Continue out and picked up a couple of items two ladies were standing at the end of the aisle I seen one say she put something in her pocket , then the other proceeded to walk up and say your daughter put something pink into her pocket it was her coin purse. Very rude , unprofessional, racially profiling. So we just walked out .
