Beauty City

I love the fact that this beauty supply store is close to my neighborhood because the other one I usually shop at as far away so it’s very convenient. I would say this beauty has a lot to offer and has good items and materials although they can be a bit on the price side. It’s quite good. I would agree with everybody else saying that the shopping experience can be uncomfortable because I feel like as a customer I should not be followed around by an employee that just makes the shopping experience feel weird. I feel like I’m constantly being watched and coming from like a person of color I just feel like it gets uncomfortable just like Having somebody hawk over you. Like even if you don’t ask for help, you’re still being followed.

Very convenient location and hours. They have a nice selection of products (hair, skin, nails, makeup, jewelry, etc). Prices are good too. They always have been polite and ask if I need any help when I’ve shopped there.

Shopped here several times in the past with no problem. The short black woman on several occasions has made me feel uncomfortable and has followed me around the store. This time I had to say something, I said “I feel like I’m being watched, and that feeling coming from another black women is crazy” and left the store without making a purchase. I’d rather give my money to jeff bazos on amazon.

Location is so great I just wish there were different employees/owner. Every single time I go I feel extremely uncomfortable and the people are just always dismissive & rude or hawking over you. Moving forward I will actually go to the other ones although they are a bit further simply because it’s a more positive environment & experience. Beauty supply stores should not feel so intense

I would not recommend this place. That Asian owner is so rude& penny pinching it’s not ideal for his business to be established within our community. Aside from that the prices are + 15-20% more than other beauty stores and the variety of options are very limited. Don’t bother to even buy a nail polish from here. The owner & his prices are enough red flags to avoid this store.
