Beach Cities Shave Spa

I don’t recommend this place to anyone Black with coily hair. Went in for a straight shave with added skin prep and while the service was nice, my face wasn’t smoothly shaven. There was still stubble. When I asked the barber, he told me he doesn’t cleanly shave coily hair because it may be prone to ingrown hair, but if I’m paying $80 for a straight shave, I want my face smooth. I got better results with my Gillette razor :-/ And the mere act of shaving hair can make coily hair prone to ingrown. If that were truly a concern, then deny service upfront and only offer a trim.

I’ve tried dozens of places here in the beach cities area for a quality haircut that doesn’t break the bank. These guys are amazing local dudes who have tue experience and skill to delivery on a good haircut but also offer a fairly reasonable price. Expect to pay around $45 pre tip (that’s better than A LOT of lesser quality spots in the el segundo/Marina Del Rey area in my opinion).

I'm not the type to write reviews hence the fact that I'm writing this from my wife's account. That being said...My experience at Beach Cities Shave Spa was ideal. I was 15 minutes early, walked in, and seated. My wife and 5 month old son were comfortably accommodated while I was attended. Simply put, the place is on point. Master Barber JC (accurately titled) was extremely professional, extremely polite and most of all attentive to detail. He listened and completely delivered with what I requested and exceeded my expectations without altering my personal style. After receiving exceptional service I couldn't believe my cost. So, If you're tired of the ridiculously overpriced cookie cutter barber, give them a try, I'm truly beyond glad I did. Richard C.
