I decided to try out this location for my first manicure in a long time. I used the direct link on Basecoat on Fifth's Instagram page to book a Healthy Manicure (not gel) for the stated price of $40 (before tax and tip). I went, had a nice experience (David, who did the manicure did a great job, the location feels clean and pleasant, and the woman at the front desk was lovely), but only when checking out I was informed that the Healthy Manicure was in fact $53 - and, with a $2 card fee, would in fact start at $55. I showed them the confirmation email with the $40 price and was told that they were in the process of switching over another booking software, but that the price I'd selected was out of date. Okay, but - I booked the manicure at that price, the day before, through their software,
I’m a 26-year-old client who came in with long, well-shaped duck nails and only requested that they be shortened slightly while keeping the same shape. The technician shortened my pinky first, showed me, and I confirmed that was exactly what I wanted. However, once the rest of the nails were completed, they all ended up different shapes and lengths. The final result looked uneven and very bulky, and the polish application was extremely thick. The salon did say I could come back for a correction, but after the experience I was honestly worried I would either be charged again or still not end up with the shape I wanted. Unfortunately, the process also ruined my original tips, so I now have to pay for a full soak-off and redo elsewhere. For context, I paid around $300 total for a manicure a
The pedicure was great. I literally fell asleep in the chair. I really didn’t have to wait at all, and I didn’t even have an appointment for my toes. I did make an appointment for my nails since they were acrylics, and the whole process was very simple. The staff were very nice and they did a great job. And they were very affordable, considering the high quality of service and luxurious feeling in the salon. I’m very hard on my hands and like to sew and clean a lot and these nails are the only nails I’ve ever gotten done that haven’t had one break or fall off, and they still look great! Would definitely recommend this to friends and family and will definitely return
Well I thought David did an excellent job until I got home and saw that my toenails were half painted with a clear gel coat so thick they peeled off the actual white toenail polish the next day. 90 bucks gone. Then my nails were only painted French tip with one coat of white so they’re already chipping and he didn’t paint the tip of the nail which most nail techs know to paint the actual tip so they look a mess the following day as well. $78 for a fill and polish that will be ruined within a week. Definitely not worth it. It’s a beautiful salon but overpriced and rushed work. Thank you so much for this experience
I got my nails done today (June 5), and I was genuinely excited to try this place—so many people had recommended it and raved about how much they loved it. The salon itself is beautiful and has a great aesthetic, which made me even more hopeful. Unfortunately, I’m really disappointed with how my nails turned out. There’s no consistency in the shape or design, and the French tips I received are honestly the worst I’ve ever had. I was expecting something much more polished and professional, especially for the price. I paid $102 for a set that I’m extremely unhappy with. I truly wanted to love this place, but based on today’s experience, I’m not sure I’ll be back.
