Banter Barber & Clothier

My new go to barber shop on the north shore and a great addition to the NBPT community. Great vibe, excellent chatter and they even have tabletop shuffle board - can't ask for more. Thanks to Hannah for turning me into a repeat customer!

Banter Barber is a unique shop that not only cuts hair and trims beards, but also sells high quality fashion clothing, has a liquor license to serve you while you wait or linger, has a shuffleboard table and pool table if you want to play. As soon as you enter Banter Barber shop, you will feel like it is a friend's cozy house. The barbers are all friendly and skilled. Erica Eramo is the owner and will instantly make you feel like an old friend when you meet him. In 2024, Banter Barber was featured on the cover of The Newburyport Magazine with Eric showing his welcoming grin.

Exceptional experience every visit. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and the quality of the haircut is consistently top-tier. I used to deal with that awkward two-week “grow-in” phase after a cut …. Thankfully not here. I keep my hair fairly long and it’s curly it to be honest my hairs receding a little However I walk out feeling confident every single time. Highly recommend.

Banter is the best barber on the North Shore. You get a friendly greeting from Brian upon checking in for your appointment. Will always cuts my hair and he is superb with a pair of scissors in his hands! BEST haircut in Newburyport to be had at Banter!
