I’ve been coming to Liliana for over 15 years and she consistently delivers beautiful hair care with cheer and a smile. She’s my go-to for everything from a trim and blowout to a major chop, highlights, balayage, gloss/glaze and is always happy to help me try something new or stick to the routine. Daniela has been a wonderful addition to the staff, as well! She takes her time providing the best head massages as part of her service - it makes it impossible not to be relaxed once you’re in the chair. She also applies color expertly under Liliana’s guidance and always helps get the experience just right! As a business, they’ve been consistently accommodating and gracious with last minute appointment requests and even cancellations as the need arises.

Liliana is beyond the best! I have been going to her for 15 years and she never ceases to impress me with her talents. I have always felt so confident in the chair knowing I will be in love with my highlights and cut. It’s so refreshing going to a place knowing you will leave so in love with your hair. Both my sisters and now niece have been going to her. I felt so safe going there and seeing they are taking the right precautions and protocols. I cannot say enough about this place and Lilianas talent with hair!

I’m writing a detailed review since I’ve ‘owed’ this business one for years now. I’ve been coming to this salon about once every six months for a few years. I always get my hair cut with Simona. I used to pay literally hundreds more in Manhattan and since Simona started cutting my hair I swear it grows faster and healthier. She’s the best. ❤️ I’m very picky also. I’m have sort of a hipster-turned housewife aesthetic, lol, more difficult to get in this neighborhood🤷🏻‍♀️ Today I had a cut with Lilliana. (I apologize if the spelling is not correct). First time at Axel and I couldn’t be more happy. First my appointment was for 4:30, I arrived a little early but I was taken at exactly 4:30. Lilliana did my hair. It was just what I wanted. It looked identical to the picture I showed her. I recommend this place to everyone. Give them a try.

Avoid! Should have known - any salon not busy on a Saturday morning should be avoided. Told Simona I wanted her to curl my long, straight hair. She used a curling iron for 30 minutes, didn't tease the curls at all, and charged me $50. My curls are limp and my hair does not look like I just came back from a salon. Horrible!
