Awani Hair Braiding

I went Thursday to get stitch braids because that’s what I wanted and what I got didn’t look nothing like the hairstyle I wanted, the next day I called the lady to see if a different woman could fix my hair and never got an answer

The space is quite small and could definitely use some deep cleaning and general upkeep. On the positive side, the wait time was short and the pricing was affordable. However, the man who braided my hair was very rough, and despite specifically asking for the braids not to be done tightly, they were still too tight. My scalp was in so much pain that I had to remove the braids after just two days. If you're looking for a clean, hygienic environment or have a sensitive scalp, this may not be the right place for you.

I’ve been going here for quite a while now, can’t remember how many years and she always exceeds my expectations. Her work is amazing every single time. I walk away smiling and feeling super happy with my braids. One thing I really appreciate is that she never braids too tight, which makes the experience so much more comfortable. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for great braids she never disappoints!

Great service, great vibes, and very neat work. This establishment is ran on a first come, serve basis so come early if you’d like prompt service. The owner is super personable and welcoming, and I was able to Fulani braids done in under 8 hours which is always a plus. The workspace is pretty intimate so it will be ideal to withhold bringing a plus one unless they’re being serviced as well. The prices varies on the intricacies of the style that you desire but I’d say it’s still pretty affordable as well.
