Avant Garde Salon

I guess it’s almost a year since my husband’s barber retired. We were looking for someone close and came across Avant Garde Salon. I went with my husband for his first appointment with Thomas and I loved how he did his hair. Thomas commented on my hair, which is pretty curly. He was telling me how much he likes working on curly hair. I ended up making an appointment with him and loved what he did with my hair; the cut, the highlight and the style. He does very well for both of us and is so much fun. Give Thomas a try. You’ll love him as much as we do!!!

Just switched to Avant Garde. Thomas knows what he's talking about, and he knows what he's doing - color and dealing with curly hair. I've gotten so many compliments, including my husband, who said this is the best my hair has looked in years.

I came to the salon back in May of 2014 for color and a haircut. At that time, the owner seemed to be very attentive to my wants and needs for my hair. I left feeling satisfied and looked forward to returning again. Once I got home, I showered and a lot of the color that I just had done was literally going down the drain. When I started to dry my hair, I had noticed that it was cut unevenly in several different places. Despite all of this I called and made another appointment. I arrived at the salon early and the owner had another customer whom he was talking to while finishing her up. After she left, I explained how disappointed I was at my last appointment with my hair. What a great place! It’s nestled in the back of the Fogelsville Post Office building. It’s small but quite lovely, super-clean and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. Thomas is very pleasant and extremely skilled as a stylist. He gave me a fabulous cut that brought my waves and curls back to life. He is wonderful! This is now, my one and only “go to” salon!! Yay!
