Growing up in New York I always went to the Dominican hair salon and had my hair shampooed 2-3 times, deep conditioned, set under dyer with rollers, blow dried, straightened, and ends cut for nothing over $70. [I’m aware of inflation and price increases] It’s been 2 years since I’ve visited New York, and I decided to try Aurora salon, however I didn’t expect to be charged $115 for a similar service. When I first called to book an appointment I was quoted $85, which is fair, but after I arrived and asked about the price for the second time, I was told $115. Additionally, they did not detangle my hair while it was wet and had conditioner in it (conditioner makes it easy to detangle and gives your hair slip which I thought was common knowledge).
