Atlanta Barber Institute

Before moving into the new year, I feel it’s important to share my experience and leave an honest review of this school to warn others especially young adults and women who may be considering attending. I enrolled in this school in November November 2023, after graduating high school , and was the very first student at the new Greenbrier Mall location. For several months, I was the only student consistently attending class. I was originally told the program would last 9 months. However, once my 9 months were completed, the owner continuously prolonged my course, claiming I needed more practice before taking the state board or suggesting that I pursue a master barber license instead of the standard license. Trusting his guidance, I stayed enrolled, continued waking up early to attend clas

Clean and nice looking. They have a group of students that speak Spanish and they talked while cutting my hair. This was very annoying! I believe you shouldn't do that. Please focus on cutting my hair and have your conversation after I leave.

This school—and Mr. Rutledge—truly changed my life. When I first walked through those doors, I had zero experience and no real knowledge about barbering. But with consistent effort, personal accountability, and a lot of hard work, I can proudly say I’m now a licensed Master Barber! I passed every exam on the first try, which speaks volumes about the quality of teaching and support from Mr. Rutledge and the entire staff. I’m beyond grateful for this journey.
