I’ve been a client here for years (first with Noelle and now with Laurel) and let me tell you - ash is a seriously special business. I look forward to seeing these gals and visiting this salon every time my appointment comes around. I’ve been meaning to write them a review forever, and it’s hard to know where to start b/c this place is so special. A few highlights: I see Laurel for cut and color, and I’m always impressed. She listens really well to what I’m going for, and picks up on / pays attention to the little details without me even realizing she’s doing it. She’s also on-point style wise, and has helped me craft a look that’s totally individual but on-trend. Every time I go out in Oakland ladies compliment my bangs or layers, and lol, that’s all Laurel. I found Laurel about a year ago based on her 5-star online reviews. The haircut styling she has done for me has exceeded my expectations. Not only does she listen carefully and thoroughly to what I want, she masterfully follows through and does it, even better than I expected. In addition, I always enjoy talking with her during the process.

I’ve been going to Laurel for many years and I always leave with my hair looking great! I have curly hair but wear it straight and she cuts it to fit my style. For the last few years she’s also been doing my highlights and root touch ups. I get a lot of compliments every time I get it done. She is the best! Ash is a warm and welcoming salon. Highly recommend!

My favorite place to relax and come out feeling great is at Ash Salon. Laurel has been cutting and coloring my hair for many years, and I’ve always been super happy with the results. She adds lowlights to my hair, and it blends in perfectly with my natural hair color, still looking great as my hair grows out – I feel younger and happier. My daughter also goes to Laurel for a haircut and color, and we both love her. Laurel is a wonderful and fun person to be with, and the most talented hairstylist. I highly recommend her!

I have been seeing Laurel for the last year and she’s fantastic. She has creative ideas for my hair while also sticking to tried and true cut and color. She’s efficient, prompt and flexible with scheduling as needed. The salon is small and lovely - sometimes conversations cross both stylists and their clients which is always fun! Highly recommend this gem!
