April Ray Salon

Came to this salon based on a recommendation and I was not disappointed. The Salon is small but has a warm welcoming vibe. Dineen - the stylist who worked on my hair was very friendly and took the time to learn how I wanted my hair cut and styled, she talked to me through the cut to make sure I was comfortable throughout the process. Since then, I’ve visited about 4/5 times now and I’ve left every-time feeling like a million bucks; there’s nothing like a great haircut to make you feel like a new person. Thank you Dineen for your professionalism and attention to detail and thank you April for the welcoming and friendly atmosphere you bring to your shop. You definitely made a lifelong customer with me and I will be recommending your salon to all my friends and family.

I recently had a disappointing experience at April Ray Salon in Montrose. I was recommended to a junior stylist by the owner, April Ray herself, but unfortunately, the outcome was far from satisfactory. The haircut I received was uneven and lacked proper technique. The stylist, though clearly trying her best, seemed very inexperienced and struggled with basic styling. After she attempted to dry and curl my hair, it ended up tangled and messy. To my dismay, I discovered there was still a significant amount of shampoo left in my hair when I got home. While I understand that everyone has to start somewhere, I felt that this stylist was not adequately supported during my appointment, especially with the owner present in the salon. 1st real haircut since the beginning of the Pandemic and I was so very happy it was Abbie at April Ray's Salon in Montrose, who cut it. Love the layers and the much needed lift. Abbie was thoughtful and listened to what I wanted. She gave me a cut that I love working with and I will definitely be back. Maybe next time we'll do some color, too. This is exactly the kind of Salon I like. They do a great job and it was a welcoming experience. Thank you Abbie!

All the ladies that work at April Ray's are personable and lovely, however, I have only seen Maia there. I adore her! She does a fantastic cut and color and is always accommodating in her scheduling. She is one of those stay with forever-stylists!!
