Anna’s Hair Salon Dominican Style

I had a very disappointing experience due to a lack of pricing transparency and professionalism. My 6-year-old child with shoulder-length hair was charged $92 for a basic shampoo and blowout. I never refused to pay; I simply asked for an explanation of how the total was calculated. During this interaction, the owner commented on my appearance, stating that because I pay for my nails, I should be able to pay the price charged. When I asked for clarification, she walked away multiple times. The prices she mentioned verbally did not add up to $92, and when I pointed this out, I was told the charge was because her worker “works very hard.” I had no issue tipping appropriately, but the base price should be clearly stated and consistent. I live in NJ but spend a lot of time in GA I have a regular Dominican stylist in NJ who does my hair. She installed a weave and told me to keep up my wash and sets while in GA. Cool. The place I normally go down here was closed. Ok, fine. (Sidebar: why do the shops close early down here? It's impossible to go to work and then get your hair done. But, I digress). Although, Anna, the owner is very friendly and welcoming some of her staff are not. Not sure of the older woman I had problems with name but I know she was kind of heavy-set, short and wore glasses and at the time had braids. I visited the week of Christmas 2025. The entire time I was there she was rude. I understand some of the ladies taught language is not English but there’s other non-verbal ways to display good customer care. She did not smile or seem friendly at all. She detangled my hair dry and free of detangler or conditioner. After washing, I stated I wanted a roller set instead of blow dry and she let out a groan out irritation and went to get the roller. From the time she started my hair to the time she finished, she was kept dropping combs and clips used in my hair on the floor

I am writing this to warn every natural girl, especially those with 4C hair, to stay away from this salon. I spent years carefully growing out my natural hair, only to have it completely ruined in one visit. It has been months since my appointment, and my hair has never returned to its natural state. What used to be thick 4C curls is now straight, limp, and severely damaged. Whether it was the extreme heat or straightening chemicals in their products without my consent, the result is the same: my hair is permanently altered. I am now forced to do a big chop' and start my journey all over again because of their lack of transparency and respect for natural texture. Do not trust them with your curls if you want to keep them.

Anna is absolutely amazing. If you haven’t booked with her yet, you’re missing out. Her salon offers excellent service and a great experience from start to finish.
