Angie’s African American hair Braiding

For years I've been going to a braiding shop in West Philly. I booked my appointment with them as usual and I had a flight booked for the next morning. I took off of work for this appointment,and although I confirmed MANY times I was told the braider was in Africa and they weren't sure why they booked me. They weren't able to take me in. This was 3pm on a Friday. I called so many places and they said they weren't able to help.. it was too late and the style I wanted would take too long. I ran into Angie's after multiple Google searches. They were able to take me in. Not only did they take me in but they did a BETTER job than my West Philly spot. I’ve been coming to Angie for over 6 years. Even after moving an hour and a half away out of state, I still only trust her with my hair. She eats down every single reference photo/video I send in. I leave with crisp parts, crisp braids, and constant compliments. Not to mention- the price she quotes me ahead of time doesn't change by the time my hair is finished. As someone who is tender-headed, I appreciate that Angie knows exactly how to handle my hair. She braids without it being too tight and constantly checks in to make sure I’m comfortable. The other ladies in the shop are nice as well, I just prefer Angie as she knows how to handle my tenderhead. I gave them a reference photo and she ATE down. This style lasted me a while and her hands were so soft I could’ve fell asleep. She gave me the Wi-Fi password which was amazing and she let me get up to use the bathroom no hassle.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I booked a 10:15 AM appointment for my little sister to get four regular cornrows — a simple style that was supposed to take 2 hours, according to the booking info. We arrived at 10:22 AM, just seven minutes late, and I made it clear what we wanted. I left her there expecting she’d be done by the estimated time. To my shock, when I called around 11:30 AM, the stylist said she was just about to start her hair. That means my sister was left sitting for over an hour without a single braid started. Today was my 1st time at Angie’s braiding. I went in to get knotless boho bob braids and I absolutely love them! They are so welcoming when you come in and very fast when it comes to braiding and not to mention very reasonable pricing, I paid $160 for my style. I was only there for 4 hours when I’ve spent up to 8 hours at other braiding shops. I definitely will be returning! :)
