Amy African Hair Braiding

They are really nice here, they made me really comfortable. They did an amazing job on my hair the two times I went and I'll be going for the third time tomorrow!

Do not go here if you have natural hair. I had to take my hair down because my scalp was literally burning 2 days after I got my braids. I then took them down and my hair has not stopped shedding literally from the root. Every time I touch my hair I get at least 10 hairs come out with the WHITE ROOT ATTACHED. I have never had shedding or a burning scalp even after my braids were taken down. I have multiple bumps and scabs on my scalp 2 weeks later. BEWARE! Edit: 3 weeks later I am still seeing shedding from the root. The white you see in the photo is the root of my hair, not dandruff.

I was looking for a nice place to start getting my hair braided bc I just moved into the neighborhood so I said let me try here. Boy was I wrong. The place is dirty, hair thrown on the left side of the store, ants and bugs everywhere and the ladies are rude. No way my braids should be unraveling like this after a week. All the reviews are old, it must be new management bc it’s 2024 and it’s nothing like these previous reviews.

Crochet braids. I needed a back up because my regular braid shop was closed the day after July 4th. This was My first time here. Needed my hair done the same day and Amy came through for me. I was hesitant traveling further than I wanted but she made it worth the trip. Amy asked me to come at Noon, I was there on time and I didn’t wait 2 minutes and I was in her chair. She was pleasant and listened to my request when I told her I was tender headed. :). She was nice to talk to and the best part I was out of her chair in under 3 hours. She did a nice job with my crochet braids. I will definitely return for a redo. 👍🏽👍🏽

I came to Amy’s last minute one morning after my hairstylist cancelled on me unexpectedly right before I was set to leave for vacation. Amy and all of her braiders are very friendly and welcoming. They did a great job on my hair. She squeezed me in right away. I was in and out with no issues.
